Often times we think we need a full day to reset and refresh our home.
What if I told you can do 4 things that will make your house feel ready for the week, would that make you feel more at ease?
Of course, it would! Nobody wants to spend a WHOLE day resetting only to be exhausted and drained to begin the week.
First Thing: Take out all trash.
It does not matter when trash day is, I like to gather my trash and take it out.
Trash can instantly make a home feel messier and dirtier than it really is. Sometimes you live with a smell for so long that you stop noticing it, until you realize your home doesn’t smell the way it used to.
Getting rid of the trash will make your space look and smell cleaner.
Second Thing: Put away clutter.
I know we all want to get home and just kick off our shoes and remove any extra articles weighing us down, but at the end of the week we end up with piles of clothes and shoes EVERYWHERE! (Houses with kids and dogs…you know what I’m talking about.)
One minor tip is having a spot designated for the items we use often and can’t seem to get rid of. It will make picking up so much easier and an easy way to just make the living room feel less lived in.
Keeping clutter off the countertops can make a room feel instantly better. Go ahead utilize your junk drawer. We all have one.
Third Thing: Use a Toilet Tablet.
It is okay to have some help!
Using the tablets that sit in the toilet is one of the best ways to help your toilet not be funky.
Trust me, we know toilets are no fun to clean, but keeping the inside of the bowl looking clean not only makes sanitizing the outside easier, but it makes a bathroom look clean without having to get your hands too dirty.
Fourth Thing: Clean Out the Sink.
An empty sink is a happy kitchen!
A pile of dishes can make any kitchen instantly look and feel dirty. When we have no idea where to begin, I will empty and load the dishwasher. It’s one of those small things that helps kick-start my motivation and gets me in the mood to clean.
